Sustainability

Plastic means responsibility.

Our goal is a closed-loop economy – the circular economy of the Green Deal.

The sustainable use of raw materials that are no longer lost in a cradle-to-cradle cycle between extraction, production, utilisation and recycling.

We are fully committed to this goal.

We have achieved bronze status in the Ecovadis Sustainability Rating.

Why are we also focussing on plastic for the future?

Plastic is absolutely hygienic.

Plastic is airtight and waterproof.

Plastic is light as a feather.

Plastic is easy to process and can withstand all stresses and strains.

In food packaging, plastic will continue to be the material of choice for many customers and products thanks to the hygiene regulations of the GFSI standard.

Plastic is a raw material that is irreplaceable in logistics, production and trade all over the world in the long term. Demonising it does not help.

We want the sustainability of plastic to be discussed on the basis of facts and not ideologically.

How do we reduce the ecological footprint of our plastic?

Our customers now buy thinner films than in the past. We save on raw materials.

Our customers are demanding more and more recycled content in our films.

We are switching our energy supply as far as possible to renewable energies, in our case photovoltaics.

We recycle almost 100% of our own production waste and reuse it in our own production.

We are constantly renewing our machinery and are therefore always at the cutting edge of production and energy efficiency.

We confidently expect politicians and society to focus on the recycling of plastic from consumer waste (post-consumer recycling). Our main material, PET, is ideally suited for this and is 100% recyclable if it is collected by type. This makes it a shoe for the future.
